If you'd rather choose exactly where the viewer sits, or the automatic gallery placement doesn't suit your theme, add the The RenderX 3D viewer block to your product template.
Add the block
- In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize.
- At the top, switch to your Product template (Default product, or the template your rings use).
- In the product information section, click Add block and choose The RenderX 3D viewer.
- Drag it where you want it, for example just above or below the gallery.
- Click Save.
The block shows the 3D viewer only on products that have 3D, and stays empty elsewhere.
Tell the app
In the app, go to Settings → Product page and choose I'll place the block myself. The app then won't also insert a slide into the gallery, so shoppers never see two viewers.
Good to know
- The block uses the same viewer as the gallery: three metals, auto-rotate, full screen, reset, the views of your position bar, drag and zoom.
- It loads the same way: only the picture on page load, the 3D after the shopper's first interaction.
- Removing the block, or uninstalling the app, leaves your theme exactly as it was. No theme files are edited.
