Make photos, 360° videos and STL files of your pieces, let shoppers download photos from your store, and design the watermark on shoppers' copies. Everything is rendered in the browser with the same look as your store's 3D viewer: nothing is rendered or kept on our servers.

Photos of one product
Open the product in the app, then Photos & video, or open Exports and pick the product.
- Pick the views. One click gives a set: E-commerce 4 (Hero top, Profile, Table top and Laid down: the four classic product photos, the default), Position bar (the views in each product's position bar), Catalogue (Profile, Table top, Three-quarter low, Macro stone), Social (Hero top 4:5, Laid down 4:5, Macro stone 1:1, Hero top 9:16) or Everything. Or tick views one by one from the full list: Hero top, Profile, Table top, Laid down, Three-quarter, Front, Side, Top, Close-up, Three-quarter low, Back, Inside band, Macro stone and Laid down top. The order you tick them is the order of the files (and of the product media, below). Laid down views lay the ring on its side; the others stand it up. A piece that isn't a ring gets only the laid down views.
- Choose the metals (the product's metal, all three, or the ones you pick), a backdrop (Studio white, Warm ivory, Light grey, Charcoal or Transparent: a PNG with a soft shadow), a ratio (1:1, 4:5, 3:4, 16:9 or 9:16), a size and PNG or JPG.
- If you like, change the shadow (as in the 3D view, softer or none), add a subtle ground reflection (photos only), choose the framing (tight, as the reference or airy), turn on true scale (every ring at the same millimetres per pixel, so a catalogue shows real sizes; it uses the ring's measured size) or set your own file names with
{name},{metal},{view},{ratio}and{n}. Every metal uses the same framing, so the three metals line up in a gallery. - Click Start. The app shows how long it will take before it begins; keep the tab open while it renders.
Files are named <SKU or handle>_<metal>_<view>_<ratio> unless you set your own pattern, one file or a zip. A photo of a view looks exactly like that view in the 3D (same camera, same lens); only the size differs. Your photos have no watermark unless you tick Add my watermark.
Add to product media: on the product page, tick it to add the photos to the Shopify product's own media, in the order you chose, instead of downloading them: the button reads Add N photos to the product, and when they're added a message confirms it with a Download photos button if you also want the files. They are uploaded straight from your browser to Shopify. Existing product photos are never changed or removed. On the Exports page the zip still downloads as well.
Photos, 360° video and STL for one or many products
Exports: pick one product or many (one page, no tabs) (search, filter by status, or Select all with 3D). Tick the angles you want from the full list (seven are ticked to start: Hero top, Profile, Table top, Laid down, Three-quarter, Three-quarter low and Macro stone). On Growth and Pro you can also tick Add a 360° video of each product (6, 10 or 15 seconds, square or portrait, Fast or Studio, in the product's own metal) and Add STL files of each product (the whole piece, the metal only, the stones in one file, or one file per stone; millimetres or inches). Then start.
- One product: you get one zip named by its SKU, with its pictures, video and STL files inside.
- Several products (Growth and Pro): you get one zip with a folder for each product, named by its SKU (its handle when it has no SKU; two products with the same SKU get -2, -3). Each folder holds that product's pictures, video and STL files, every file named by the SKU too. You can also choose one zip per product.
- The STL files are made as on the product page: from the meshes saved in your .3dm (stored, or read again from your link), or from the display model when no source file is kept. They are made in your browser and never stored on our server.
Products render one after another, with progress for each (the video's frames too). Pause stops after the current product; if you close the tab, the page offers to Continue where it stopped next time (the queue is kept in your browser, never sent to us). A product that fails is listed and the others go on. Growth renders up to 50 products per run; Pro has no limit.
360° video (Growth and Pro)
One full turn of the piece, 6, 10 or 15 seconds, 30 frames a second, 1080 × 1080 or 1080 × 1350, starting from the Angle view, on the backdrop you choose. Fast takes a minute or two; Studio traces every frame for a finer look and can take 10 to 30 minutes (the app shows the estimate first). The video is an MP4 (H.264), or a WebM where the browser can't write MP4. If the tab closes, the finished frames are kept in your browser and Unfinished videos continues from there. Tick Add to product media to add it to the product as a Shopify video instead of downloading it; the message that confirms it has a Download video button.
STL for 3D printing (Growth and Pro)
The STL is made from the meshes saved in your .3dm, at the detail your CAD program saved. It is useful for prototypes and sharing, not a replacement for exporting from Rhino or Matrix with fine mesh settings.
- Source: your stored original, or a fresh read of your link. If neither was kept, the STL is made from the display model (lower detail), and the app says so.
- Parts: the whole piece, metal only (stones removed, for casting), stones only (one file, or one per stone) or one named part. Millimetres or inches.
- Before you download, a report shows the triangle count, the size in millimetres and whether the mesh is watertight. If it isn't, a yellow note says printers may need a repair step; the app never repairs it silently.
The STL is made in your browser and downloaded directly. It is never stored on our server or anywhere public. We record that an STL was made (which part and how many triangles), never the file.
Shoppers download photos (Starter and up)
With Let shoppers save pictures and 360° videos on (in Settings → General → Export, on by default; the same switch turns the Save button on or off on Growth and Pro), the 3D view in your store has a camera button. A shopper gets four photos of the piece, Hero top, Profile, Table top and Laid down, in the metal they are looking at, as a zip. The button shows on computers; phones and tablets don't show it.
- Where the photos come from: the shopper's computer renders the four views on the spot (1200 × 1200, the same look as the 3D view) and marks them before saving. No unmarked copy is ever published on your store. (Photo packs made by earlier versions of the app were removed from your Files when this changed.)
- Your watermark is drawn in the shopper's browser when they download, so a new watermark applies at once, with nothing to re-render. Shoppers never get a photo without a mark: with Watermark on shoppers' photo downloads off, their photos carry your shop's name as a small text mark instead.
- A download is counted in Analytics (photo downloads), like the viewer's other anonymous events.
Your watermark
Settings → Watermark (Starter and up):
- Styles: text (your shop's name by default), logo, logo and text, tiled pattern, diagonal ribbon, bottom bar and corner badge. Presets: Subtle corner, Centre stamp, Diagonal tile and Bottom bar.
- Position on a 9-point grid, fine moves left or right and up or down, size (3–60 % of the photo's width), amount (5–100 %), margin, tile spacing and rotation, colour (automatic light or dark by the photo behind it, white or black), an outline or soft shadow, and one of three fonts.
- Logo: PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG up to 2 MB, ideally with a transparent background (an SVG is turned into a PNG in your browser). It's kept in your own Shopify Files; until you upload one, your text is shown.
- Where it applies: shoppers' photo downloads (on by default) and your own exports (off by default; you can change it for each export).
The preview shows the mark on one of your own products exactly as shoppers' downloads get it; drag it to move the mark. Shoppers' pictures and videos from the Save button carry the same watermark. If you had a watermark before this page existed, shoppers keep seeing it unchanged until you save a new design.
Save button on the 3D view (Growth and Pro)
The Save button on the 3D view (in the app's preview and, with Let shoppers save pictures and 360° videos on in Settings → General → Export, in your store) saves a picture (a PNG, 2048 pixels on its long side, exactly the view on screen) or a 360° video (an MP4, 12 seconds, one full turn from the view on screen). Your own have no watermark; shoppers' always carry your watermark. Background in the same tab sets the colour behind the piece.
Privacy
Photos, videos and STL files are made in the browser of whoever asks for them. Nothing is rendered on our servers and we keep no copy. The only files that reach Shopify are the ones you choose to send: your logo (to your Shopify Files) and, with Add to product media, your photos and videos (to the product). Unfinished videos and bulk exports are kept only in your own browser until they finish or you delete them.
If something doesn't work
- Exports need a recent browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox) with 3D graphics on. A browser that can't write MP4 makes a WebM video instead.
- A long export runs while the tab stays open; the app says "Keep this tab open".
- On an older phone, a video can take a minute or two. The progress bar shows how far it has got, and Cancel stops it.
